Trailer: Alfre Woodard In Sundance Hit “Clemency”

Following rave reviews out of Sundance in January, Chinonye Chukwu’s critically-acclaimed drama “Clemency” finally arrives in cinemas just after Christmas and brings with it a stunning performance by Alfre Woodard by all accounts.

Danielle Brooks, Aldis Hodge, Wendell Pierce, and Richard Schiff co-star in the film in which Woodard plays Bernadine Williams,a maximum-security prison warden who, over the years, finds herself drifting away from her husband while she executes death row inmates.

She soon strikes up a unique bond with death-row inmate Anthony Woods (Aldis Hodge) and is forced to confront the complex – and often contradictory – the relationship between good intentions, unrequited desires, and what it means to be sanctioned to kill.

Neon Releasing will open “Clemency” on December 27th.
